Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to provide medical records and administrative support in a busy healthcare environment. This position is responsible for managing patient and legal requests for medical record reviews, maintaining accurate electronic health records, and providing administrative support to approximately 12 clinicians. This is a high-volume position that requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Key Responsibilities Manage patient and legal requests for medical record and file reviews from receipt through completion. Retrieve, review, and appropriately redact healthcare records and confidential information prior to authorized release. Coordinate and facilitate medical record reviews and releases in accordance with established policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements. Manage approximately 40-50 patient and legal record requests per month . Scan, upload, and accurately index approximately 400 documents per week into patients electronic medical charts. Review scanned documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper placement within the medical record. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA and patient privacy requirements . Provide ongoing administrative and medical records support to approximately 12 clinicians . Assist clinicians with documentation, records retrieval, correspondence, and other administrative needs. Maintain organized electronic and physical patient files. Track outstanding medical record requests and follow up to ensure timely completion. Perform data entry, document management, filing, scanning, and other administrative duties. Communicate professionally with patients, clinicians, legal representatives, and internal departments. Perform additional Medical Assistant and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous Medical Assistant experience in a healthcare or clinical environment preferred. Experience working with medical records, patient documentation, or legal record requests strongly preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA, patient confidentiality, and protected health information (PHI) . Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Strong computer, data entry, scanning, and document management skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage a high-volume workload with competing priorities and deadlines . Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while effectively supporting a multidisciplinary clinical team.
