Job Description
Medical Assistant Under the direction of the clinic supervisor, the medical assistant is responsible for the receiving of patients, preparing the patients to be seen by the provider, and assisting the provider as requested in the delivery of care to the patient. The medical assistant works with patients and is knowledgeable with regard to the clinic's patient education program and provides educational materials to the patient when appropriate. The medical assistant is also responsible for the maintenance of supplies and equipment. Key Responsibilities Prepare patient exam rooms and equipment using aseptic and sterile techniques Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs and brief medical histories Perform clinical procedures including immunizations, injections, venipuncture, and urinalysis Assist providers during patient exams and procedures Greet and register patients, manage referrals and authorizations Schedule appointments and ancillary tests accurately Answer and route incoming phone calls, taking and distributing messages Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms Qualifications Medical Assistant Registration or Certification required. 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant EMR experience Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment Must be highly detail oriented. Work Environment This position is onsite Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasant Prairie, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
