Job Description

Overview Responsible for coding designated medical records as assigned by coding supervisor. Maintains quality control for all records processed. Codes all records according to
ICD-10-CM
Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and CPT Coding Guidelines. Abstracts according to UHDDS guidelines. Follows instructions published by "Coding Clinic" and "CPT Assistant."
Qualifications Education:
High school graduate or equivalent.
ICD-10-CM
coding school and/or attendance at basic
ICD-10-CM/CPT
seminar required in lieu of experience. Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred.
Experience :
Previous experience in medical record department preferred. Physician office experience will be considered in a motivated individual.
Certificate/License :
RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC
,or CCA required. If candidate does not possess any of the aforementioned credentials he or she will be given a year to acquire one of the credentials.
