Job Description
Calvert Internal Medicine Group seeks a Medical Coding Specialist to join our team! This position will enter patient charges, update accounts, and reconcile payments in accordance with established organizational and department policies and procedures. Duties include but are not limited to interpreting and coding appropriately from reports submitted by specialist providers; audits accounts and update patient demographics; processes billing to the patient and third-party companies, maintaining supporting documentation; solicits payment plans as required; keying data, posting transactions, and verifies the accuracy of input to reports generated; posts and reconciling payments to the ledger. This position requires an HS diploma or equivalent, Associate or bachelor's degree is preferred. At least 3 years of previous medical billing and coding experience are required. Working knowledge of third-party claims and diagnostic coding to include ICD 9/10 and CPT coding, is required. Must have active medical coding certification (AAPC preferred).
