Job Description

Coding Specialist Join our team and make a difference behind the scenes in patient care! We're looking for a detail-oriented Coding Specialist who is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and supporting quality healthcare. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have experience with medical coding, we'd love to hear from you!
What You'll Do:
Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for professional services. Review documentation to ensure complete and accurate coding and claims. Create and manage claims for multiple specialties, including: Family Medicine Behavioral Health Population Health Infectious Disease Endocrinology Podiatry Pediatric Cardiology Pediatric Hematology Child Medical Evaluations Laboratory & Radiology Resolve coding edits, medical necessity issues, and held claims. Educate providers and staff on coding and documentation best practices. Stay current with coding guidelines and payer regulations. Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support quality patient care.
What We're Looking For:
✔ High school diploma or equivalent ✔ Minimum 1 year of medical coding experience ✔ Certified Professional Coder (CPC or CPC-A) preferred, or certification required within one year of hire ✔ Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and commercial payer guidelines ✔ Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management ✔ Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
Preferred:
Experience coding professional services in a teaching environment Familiarity with Medicare Teaching Physician Rules AthenaOne Experience Why Join Us?
