Family Medicine Coder - Full Time (FT)
Department:
Family Medicine Medical Records Reports to: Director of Patient Accounts Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting quality patient care? York General Family Medical Clinic is seeking a Medical Coder to join our team. In this role, you will ensure accurate coding, claim processing, and insurance verification while serving as an important resource for both providers and patients. Why York General?

What You'll Do:
Review and analyze patient records to assign accurate ICD and CPT codes. Process insurance claims and verify required information for timely reimbursement. Investigate, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims. Coordinate with providers and clinic staff regarding coding questions and documentation needs. Assist patients with insurance-related inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Complete e-dispense forms accurately and within required timelines. Participate in coding quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with current coding guidelines and regulations. Protect patient confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards.
What You'll Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent. Medical office experience, with some knowledge of medical terminology. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with providers and staff. Bonus Points for experience with ICD and CPT coding, previous claims processing or medical billing experience, familiarity with electronic health records and healthcare software systems.
