Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated HME/DME Biller to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately processing billing and claims for Home Medical Equipment (HME) and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) services. Your expertise will ensure timely reimbursement, compliance with industry standards, and seamless coordination with insurance providers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care by managing complex billing processes with precision and efficiency. Duties Prepare and submit accurate claims for HME/DME services using appropriate coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes. Review medical records, documentation, and patient information to ensure completeness and correctness of billing data. Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility to facilitate smooth reimbursement processes. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies while maintaining excellent communication with insurance companies. Maintain detailed records of billing activities within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems for audit purposes. Keep up-to-date with industry regulations, coding updates, and payer policies to ensure compliance. Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies promptly and accurately. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing, preferably within HME/DME or related healthcare settings. Strong knowledge of medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG
classifications, and medical terminology. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used in medical offices for billing and record management. Excellent understanding of insurance processes, claims submission procedures, and medical collections. Ability to interpret medical records accurately and apply appropriate coding standards. Prior experience working with medical office staff or healthcare providers is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all billing activities. $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
