Job Description This position is working in the Surgical Coding area which could include OR/Endoscopy/Deliveries Fully Remote Flexible Work Schedule once trained. Role Overview As a Medical Coder, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and compliant coding of diagnostic and procedural information from patient medical records. Your work directly supports reimbursement, billing, medical research, and administrative decision-making, promoting continuity of care and optimizing revenue. This role is essential for maintaining compliance with coding guidelines and third-party reimbursement policies. What You Will Do Review, analyze, and code diagnostic and procedural information from patient medical records for reimbursement and billing purposes. Accurately abstract data from medical records to support research, patient care evaluation, and administrative decision-making. Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, third-party reimbursement policies, regulations, and accreditation standards. Promote provider/patient continuity and accurate database information to optimize reimbursement. What You Will Need Required Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Additional specialty coding certification or five (5) years of coding experience. One to two (1-2) years college or additional coursework in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration or Medical Record Sciences preferred. Must have a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems. Minimum of two (2) years coding experience required.
