Job Description

This Outpatient Medical Coder Position Features:
  • Fully Remote
  • Monday to Friday - 8am to 4::30pm
  • Outpatient Medical Coder for CVIR and GI
  • Pay $40-44/hr or DOE We are seeking an experienced Outpatient Coding Specialist to support Hospital Information Management Services (HIMS) with a focus on Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology (CVIR) and Gastrointestinal (GI) coding and billing.
This fully remote role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely coding for hospital outpatient surgical services.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform accurate and timely coding for CVIR and GI outpatient procedures
  • Ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and modifier guidelines
  • Review and resolve NCCI and OCE edits
  • Maintain productivity and quality standards in a remote environment
  • Collaborate with billing, clinical, and audit teams to ensure proper reimbursement
  • Support coding accuracy for optimal revenue cycle performance
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of acute care hospital outpatient surgical coding experience
  • Demonstrated experience in CVIR and GI hospital coding
  • Strong knowledge of:
ICD-10-CM
coding; CPT coding and modifiers; NCCI aand OCE edits
  • Proficiency with coding software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Must hold one of the following certifications
  • CIRCC (Certified Interventional Radiology and Cardiovascular Coder) COC (Certified Outpatient Coder) CPC (Certified Professional Coder) CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in:
  • Coding education or audit review
