Position Summary:
Responsible for reviewing inpatient visit documentation and assigning diagnoses (ICD-10) and procedure codes (ICD-10-PCS) in compliance with official coding guidelines and facility policy and procedures. Assures coding is accurate and assigns appropriate DRG in order for facility to achieve optimum reimbursement and reported data/benchmarks.
Position Qualification:
Years of Experience 6 months - 1 year RHIT, RHIA or CCS certification preferred. Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and MS-DRGs. Years of Experience can be related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
