In this vital role, you will manage the billing and coding processes for pediatric healthcare services, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies, government programs, and patients. Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycles while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a compassionate pediatric practice dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care through precise billing practices. Responsibilities Review and accurately code pediatric medical procedures and diagnoses using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems. Prepare and submit clean claims for reimbursement via billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility to facilitate smooth claims processing. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection efforts, ensuring timely resolution. Maintain detailed medical records and documentation to support billing accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or coding discrepancies as needed. Stay current with updates in health insurance policies, coding standards, and billing regulations to ensure ongoing compliance. Skills Strong knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems. Proficiency in medical billing software, Microsoft Office Suite, and EMR/EHR systems used in healthcare settings. Experience with healthcare claims management and medical collection processes. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and health insurance policies. Ability to navigate complex billing workflows while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail. Exceptional customer service skills to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
