This role partners closely with the Chief Medical Officer to oversee pediatric clinical quality, provider performance, workflow optimization, and strategic growth initiatives, while maintaining an active clinical practice. The Associate Medical Director carries an outpatient pediatric caseload alongside these leadership responsibilities. Schedule Full-time, onsite in Sacramento, CA. Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, or a 4-day, 10-hour-shift schedule is available. Compensation $231,000 to $300,000 per year, based on experience, education, certifications, and qualifications. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the anticipated hiring range for this position in accordance with California pay transparency requirements; final compensation will be determined based on job-related factors. What You'll Do The Associate Medical Director maintains high-level clinical expertise in pediatrics and stays current with evolving standards of care, monitoring and evaluating pediatric clinician performance through peer review and performance indicators. This role assists in annual provider evaluations and development plans, develops strategies to improve clinical quality and operational efficiency, and collaborates on the development and revision of pediatric policies, procedures, and workflows. This role also optimizes EHR templates, clinical accelerators, and documentation standards, and monitors referral patterns and specialty resource utilization to improve access and care coordination. The Associate Medical Director partners with executive leadership on clinical priorities and strategic initiatives, and fosters a collaborative and accountable clinical team culture. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Associate Medical Director provides comprehensive pediatric care from birth through adolescence in an outpatient setting, addressing acute, chronic, urgent, and preventive health needs. This includes performing histories and physical exams, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning, ordering and interpreting labs and imaging, coordinating specialty referrals, and providing culturally sensitive patient and family education. The Associate Medical Director maintains productivity standards while ensuring high-quality care, completes timely documentation, coding, and billing, and responds promptly to labs, consults, and patient messages. This role also participates in continuing medical education and maintains all licensure requirements.
