As a trusted strategic advisor, you will shape enterprise decisions, influence key stakeholders, and drive sustainable business growth. The Opportunity As a Field Medical Insights Director, you will serve as a strategic thought partner to the Head of the Field Medical Team and the Field Medical Executive Director (MED) Leadership Team. In this high-visibility leadership role, you will define strategic priorities, identify emerging market opportunities and risks, and guide executive decision-making to maximize field impact. You will lead broad cross-functional initiatives across Data & Digital, Commercial, US Medical Affairs, Ecosystem teams, Finance, and Legal to address critical business drivers. By synthesizing broad market trends and operational insights, you will spearhead national, regional, and account-level strategies that enhance healthcare provider engagement, optimize field resourcing, and overcome barriers to patient access. In partnership with the Field Analytics & Insights Leadership Team, you will champion organizational alignment and steer the overarching strategic vision for field operations. You will offer strategic thought-partnership and also oversee the strategic pull-through of core capabilities, frameworks, and decision-support tools to ensure seamless execution and sustained business value.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategic Advisor:
Act as the primary insights partner to the Head of the Field Medical Team and the Field Medical Executive Director leadership, directly influencing high-stakes business decisions.
Capability Leadership:
Shape the evolution of our medical analytical strategy to accelerate support for portfolio goals and local market success.
Executive Influence:
Lead executive-level dialogues to align data-driven resourcing decisions with broader commercial and medical objectives.
Business Impact:
Translate complex market data into clear, high-impact narratives that solve for patient access barriers, optimize resource allocation, and strengthen provider engagement.
Enterprise Alignment:
Foster cross-functional partnerships to deliver a cohesive, holistic view of market dynamics, portfolio performance, and organizational priorities.
Strategic Leadership:
Contribute to long-range business planning, advocate for continuous capability improvements, and champion enterprise-wide initiatives that link individual activities to tangible business and patient value.
Who You Are:
Minimum BS/BA degree with Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, Healthcare or Healthcare Informatics concentration preferred. MBA or advanced degree desired. 8+ years of work experience in management/strategy consulting, strategy or other analytical work in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare or other industries Demonstrated track record of leading and influencing cross functional teams and Senior Leaders Experience consolidating and synthesizing information from various inputs, and presenting results, impact and recommendations to non-technical and/or executive audiences. Experience developing and using Excel-based models as well as new technologies. Strong strategic thinking and structured, problem solving skills Strong attention to detail and project management skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and facilitation skills Proven track record of developing strong and trusted relationships Proven track record of meeting or exceeding objectives and goals Working knowledge of secondary data sources including claims data, population health analyses, longitudinal patient level data; experience with payer data is a plus. Business travel may be required Relocation benefits are not available for this posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $172,600 - 320,600 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
