Job Description

We're looking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine physician for a locum tenens assignment in Inverness, Florida. You'll work in a recently renovated, well-equipped emergency department that treats a predominantly adult and geriatric population in a modern, efficient setting. What you'll find on shift Annual ED volume: ~45,000 visits Daily coverage: 36 physician hours and 40 APP hours Bed configuration: 28 private rooms, bariatric-capable Patient mix: mainly adult and geriatric, low pediatric volume (~6%) No trauma designation and no OB/GYN services
EMR:
Cerner Access to advanced imaging and specialty support, with tele-neurology being implemented (hospital is a designated Stroke Center) Strong hospitalist team for admissions and inpatient management Who we're looking for ABEM- or AOBEM-certified or -eligible Emergency Medicine physicians Active Florida medical license, or the ability to obtain one DEA license Comfort managing a wide range of emergency presentations in a non-trauma, high-acuity adult setting Experience in high-volume EDs preferred About the area Inverness sits in the heart of Citrus County and offers small-town charm with plenty of outdoor recreation—lakes, bike trails, and easy access to the Gulf Coast. Tampa and Orlando are both just over an hour away, so you get a peaceful community without sacrificing nearby city amenities.
