Job Description

We're looking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine physician to provide locum tenens coverage in Loxahatchee, Florida. The ED is seeing higher-than-expected volumes and needs consistent PM shift coverage. You'll join a collaborative, well-supported team in a busy adult-only emergency department (pediatrics are handled in a separate unit). Shift and department snapshot Shift length: primarily 10-hour PM shifts Patient population: adults only ED size: 33 bays
Volume:
about 1.8-2.0 patients per hour Admission rate: 26-30% Trauma designation: non-trauma center What you'll do Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions Perform emergency procedures as needed and stabilize patients for admission or transfer Work closely with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure high-quality care Complete accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record Follow departmental protocols and quality standards Team and support Typical shift staffing: 3-4 emergency physicians and 3 advanced practice providers, with full nursing and ancillary support Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) At least 6 months of Emergency Medicine experience Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain one Current DEA registration Strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills If you're comfortable in a fast-paced environment and want to join a supportive team handling adult emergency care, this role offers steady PM coverage in a high-volume community ED.
