Job Description
Locum tenens Emergency Medicine Physician position in Sarasota, FL. Overview Provide emergency medical care on a temporary/contract basis in one or more ED settings. Flexible scheduling; varying shift lengths and assignments. Key Responsibilities Triage, evaluate, and treat adult and pediatric patients with acute medical and traumatic conditions. Perform focused histories and physical exams; order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, ECG). Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management, procedures (suturing, intubation, bedside reduction, fracture management), and disposition decisions. Stabilize critically ill patients and coordinate transfers when necessary. Document encounters clearly and timely in the medical record and communicate effectively with nursing, consultants, and ancillary services. Adhere to hospital policies, quality and safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Minimum Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM). Active, unrestricted Florida medical license. Current ACLS and PALS certifications. Proven ED experience in acute care and procedures. Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments and adapt to varying clinical settings.
