Job Description
Company Description Opus Pathology is a physician-owned and operated independent pathology laboratory that has been serving clients in Tennessee since 1960. We provide comprehensive anatomic and clinical pathology services. Our expertise spans all major areas of anatomic and clinical pathology, supporting high-quality diagnostic care and collaborative relationships with clinical teams. Role Description The Laboratory Medical Director position is a part-time position at a rural hospital in Mid to Eastern Kentucky requiring a one day a month visit.
This person will provide:
- Medical and administrative leadership for the pathology laboratory, including oversight of clinical laboratory services
- Quality assurance programs and regulatory compliance
- Monitoring staff competency
- Participating in and monitoring proficiency testing
- Oversight of all laboratory testing
- Consulting with laboratory team hospital clinicians for testing needs and questions
- Collaborate with technical staff and management to optimize workflows, support continuous improvement, and maintain accreditation standards
- Assisting in the implementation of new testing
- Being an ambassador for Opus Pathology Qualifications Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
