Summary Job Description:
Baptist Health La Grange is looking for a Vice President, Chief Medical Officer. This role will be 80% CMO duties and 20% clinical practice. Hospital Medicine or a surgical/medical specialty provided at Baptist Health La Grange is the preferred physician discipline. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) plays a pivotal leadership role in building strong, collaborative relationships across the medical staff, executive team, and hospital leadership. This leader champions a culture of safety and continuous improvement, fostering an environment where every team member is empowered to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care. Through effective communication and partnership with administrative and operational leaders, the CMO helps drive clinical excellence across the organization. As a key member of the Executive Team, the CMO contributes to shaping and advancing strategic priorities that support physicians and the broader organization. This role leads and coordinates physician-focused initiatives, including quality improvement, peer review, clinical effectiveness, and resource stewardship-ensuring the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance. Serving as a trusted ambassador for Baptist Health La Grange, the CMO represents the organization both within the community and across system-wide committees and service lines, strengthening alignment and advancing the mission of delivering outstanding healthcare.
Minimum Requirements:
Board certified physician with current state license. Minimum of 5 years of clinical and administrative staff leadership experience Minimum of 3 years related experience in patient quality and safety Experience with CMS, ACHC and or Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies Experience in formulation and implementation of clinical practice guidelines and performance improvement activities Work Experience Education If you would like to be part of a growing family focused on supporting clinical excellence, teamwork and innovation, we urge you to apply now!
