(BCRI) is a nationally recognized nonprofit and Baltimore's only comprehensive behavioral health crisis response system. Since 1992, BCRI has delivered timely, community-based services to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use crises. Our integrated continuum includes Mobile Crisis Teams, Residential Crisis Services, Crisis Stabilization Centers, detoxification and withdrawal management, and outpatient treatment programs —serving children, adolescents, and adults across Baltimore City. The Opportunity BCRI is seeking a strategic and mission-driven Medical Director to provide executive clinical and administrative leadership across our behavioral health crisis continuum. In this role, you will oversee psychiatric and medical services across multiple programs, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care while maintaining compliance with CARF standards and Maryland COMAR regulations . As a key member of the leadership team, you will guide clinical strategy, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and advance innovative approaches to crisis response and recovery. This is an opportunity to lead system-level change while directly impacting care for individuals in crisis. What You'll Do Executive Clinical Leadership Provide psychiatric and medical oversight across crisis and outpatient programs Supervise psychiatrists, nurse practitioners (CRNPs), and physician assistants (PAs) Ensure implementation of evidence-based practices including crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) Oversee withdrawal management and emergency petition protocols Program & Team Leadership Lead multidisciplinary teams including medical, clinical, nursing, peer, and residential staff Ensure 24/7 coverage and compliance with staffing requirements Manage program operations across residential and community-based settings Lead sentinel event reviews and corrective action planning Promote a collaborative, equity-driven leadership culture Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation Ensure compliance with Maryland
