Hospice Medical Director (Part-Time) - Providence Hospice Providence Hospice at The Lutheran Home is seeking a compassionate and experienced physician to serve as Hospice Medical Director (part-time), providing clinical leadership and support to our interdisciplinary hospice team. This role is ideal for a physician who is passionate about quality end-of-life care, patient dignity, and collaborative care planning. This is a contracted physician role structured as an independent contractor (1099) position. Why Join Us Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in patients' final chapter of life Supportive, interdisciplinary team environment Flexible schedule designed to complement your existing practice Key Responsibilities Conduct face-to-face visits for hospice patients (approximately 8-10 patients per month) in accordance with regulatory requirements Participate in a bi-weekly interdisciplinary team (IDT) meeting (approximately 1-1.5 hour meetings) Provide clinical oversight and guidance to the hospice care team Review and approve plans of care, ensuring they meet patient needs and compliance standards Certify and recertify hospice eligibility in accordance with Medicare guidelines Confirm and authorize physician orders for medications, treatments, and interventions Collaborate with attending physicians, nurse practitioners, and hospice staff to ensure continuity and quality of care Be available for consultation on complex patient care needs as required Position Details Part-time role with flexible scheduling Combination of on-call remote messages and in-person visits Competitive compensation based on experience Our Mission At The Lutheran Home, we are committed to enhancing the health, dignity, and quality of life of the residents we serve. Qualifications:

Qualifications MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical license Board certification in a relevant specialty (preferred) Experience in hospice and palliative care strongly preferred Knowledge of Medicare hospice regulations and compliance standards Strong communication and collaborative skills
