Joplin, MO Become a Lion and join the Pride! Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) seeks qualified candidates to teach in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program. The faculty member will provide didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction that aligns with national accreditation standards established by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). This position contributes to the preparation of competent entry-level sonographers capable of meeting certification requirements. The Program Director is responsible for: 1) the structure and daily operation of the program; 2) the organization, administration, periodic review and evaluation, continued development, and effectiveness of program curricula; and 3) ensuring the effectiveness of all clinical affiliates is maintained. Additionally, the Program Director will facilitate initial and ongoing accreditation of the program.
Qualified applicants possess the following:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • Active credentials in at least one concentration offered within the program (Abdomen, OB/Gyn, Vascular, Cardiac); multiple credentials preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer.
  • Documented experience in instruction, supervision, evaluation, and student guidance.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
