This is a permanent, full-time leadership opportunity offering comprehensive benefits, a Monday through Friday schedule, and no weekend requirements. The organization is seeking an experienced emergency department leader to oversee daily operations within a high-volume, Level I Trauma Center emergency department while supporting exceptional patient care, employee engagement, and operational excellence. The Emergency Room Manager will provide clinical, operational, financial, and personnel leadership for a fast-paced emergency services environment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, driving quality initiatives, managing departmental performance, and fostering a positive and collaborative culture among nursing and interdisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will possess recent emergency department management experience within an acute care hospital setting, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for developing clinical teams. This role offers the opportunity to lead within one of the region's busiest emergency departments while contributing to organizational goals related to quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff engagement, and operational performance.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight for daily operations within the Emergency Department Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered emergency care in a fast-paced acute care environment Manage staffing, scheduling, employee engagement, performance evaluations, and staff development initiatives Serve as a clinical resource and liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams Monitor departmental performance metrics, patient satisfaction scores, throughput, and quality outcomes Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies, procedures, and evidence-based practice initiatives Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, safety, and hospital standards Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, productivity targets, and operational efficiency initiatives Lead recruitment, onboarding, orientation, continuing education, and competency development efforts Address employee relations matters, coaching opportunities, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary processes as needed Collaborate with hospital leadership and support departments to improve patient flow and operational performance Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professional growth, and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification required Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) certification required within one year of hire Specialty certification in Emergency Nursing or Nursing Leadership preferred Minimum of two years of recent Emergency Department management experience in an acute care hospital required Prior leadership experience overseeing emergency department operations, staffing, and performance management required Experience within a Level I or Level II Trauma Center strongly preferred Strong knowledge of emergency services operations, patient flow, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance standards Excellent communication, team-building, organizational, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and healthcare technology platforms preferred
Additional Information:
