Assistant Medical Director Mobile Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) Charlotte, NC Full-Time We are seeking a compassionate and mission-driven Assistant Medical Director to join our Mobile Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a physician passionate about addiction medicine, community outreach, and delivering evidence-based care to underserved populations. Position Overview The Assistant Medical Director will provide medical oversight and clinical leadership for a Mobile Opioid Treatment Program in collaboration with the Medical Director. This role combines direct patient care, leadership responsibilities, quality oversight, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support individuals on their recovery journey. The physician will help guide clinical operations while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards for opioid treatment programs. Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Oversight Provide medical oversight and direction for the Mobile Opioid Treatment Program Supervise and support physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and clinical staff Ensure compliance with federal, state, DEA, and accreditation requirements Develop and implement evidence-based clinical policies and procedures Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices Patient Care Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with substance use disorders Manage medication-assisted treatment plans including methadone and buprenorphine Conduct physical examinations, treatment planning, and medication management Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation Collaboration & Community Engagement Work closely with counseling, case management, nursing, and administrative teams Build partnerships with community organizations, harm reduction groups, and public health agencies Participate in outreach and community-based initiatives supporting recovery services Quality & Compliance Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews Monitor clinical outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement Maintain high standards for patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical care Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related specialty Active and unrestricted North Carolina medical license Current DEA registration Strong clinical judgment and leadership skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary and mobile care settings Preferred Qualifications Experience in Addiction Medicine or Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Addiction Medicine certification (ABPM or ABAM) preferred Leadership or supervisory experience Experience in mobile medicine, community health, or outreach programs Familiarity with electronic medical records and healthcare documentation systems What We Offer Competitive compensation and benefits package Mission-driven and supportive clinical environment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in addressing the opioid crisis Collaborative interdisciplinary team Professional growth and leadership opportunities Hybrid flexibility available If you are passionate about addiction medicine and committed to improving access to care for vulnerable communities, we encourage you to apply.
