This role offers a clear pathway for professional growth, including advancement toward an Allergy Medical Director position for high-performing candidates interested in leadership and long-term development within the organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of delivering high-quality patient care while following strict clinical protocols and safety standards. This role includes performing allergy testing, administering immunotherapy injections, monitoring patients for reactions, and educating patients about allergy and asthma management.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support & Patient Care Perform direct and indirect patient care duties under the supervision of Providers. Document patient medical history including medications, allergies, respiratory symptoms, and environmental triggers. Measure and record vital signs in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Prepare patients and exam rooms for consultations and procedures. Administer allergy immunotherapy injections and monitor patients for adverse reactions. Observe patients for potential allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, and respond according to established protocols. Assist Providers during examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing. Educate patients on allergy prevention, asthma management, medication use, and environmental trigger control. Maintain accurate and complete documentation in the EHR. Administrative Duties Complete accurate documentation for patient visits, procedures, and treatments. Assist in scheduling follow-up visits, immunotherapy appointments, and referrals. Ensure all orders, prescriptions, and treatment plans are properly documented. Monitor inventory of allergy extracts, medications, and medical supplies. Ensure all patient forms, consents, and documentation are properly completed and filed. Customer Service & Patient Experience Provide compassionate and professional care to all patients. Answer patient questions regarding allergy testing, treatment procedures, and medications. Address patient concerns in a calm and solutions-oriented manner. Support a positive patient experience and efficient clinic workflow. Technology & Compliance Maintain proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality. Follow OSHA and infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Hands-on experience in allergy testing and/or immunotherapy administration is required. Experience in pulmonology, immunology, asthma care, or respiratory medicine preferred. Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills. Excellent communication and patient education abilities. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Basic computer proficiency and experience with EHR systems.
Schedule & Work Environment:
Full-time, onsite position. Primary assignment will be at the Fayetteville clinic, with occasional coverage at the Sanford clinic as needed.
