COMPANY PROFILE
This compassionate non-profit organization is dedicated to delivering convenient, high-quality care to geriatric patients in a variety of settings. They currently boast a team of more than 12 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who, along with dedicated nursing, clinical, and administrative staff, ensure that patients receive the best medical care possible while working to remove access barriers.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Senior Medical Director is a clinical executive and member of the organizational leadership team. The position is responsible for setting the overall clinical direction of the house call practice and dementia care program, ensuring that care delivery aligns with the organization's mission, value-based strategy, and growth objectives. The Senior Medical Director ensures clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, evidence-based practice standards, and measurable performance outcomes. They work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, sharing accountability for quality, growth, financial sustainability, and regulatory compliance. The areas of responsibility for the Senior Medical Director include, but are not limited to:
  • clinical leadership and strategy
  • provider oversight
  • dementia care program oversight
  • regulatory and compliance oversight
  • quality improvement and outcomes accountability
  • population health and risk oversight
  • operational and financial collaboration This position will be approximately 60% patient care and 40% leadership, with duties that include:
  • supervise nurse practitioners and physician assistants
  • maintain an active clinical practice within the house calls and/or dementia care program
  • primary clinical authority of the house call practice and dementia care program
  • interpret and modify clinical protocols / care pathways in alignment with standards
  • establish and revise documentation standards supporting billing integrity and compliance
  • participate in the house calls practice on-call rotation
  • make clinical decisions in partnership with other leaders The practice uses the AthenaCare
EHR. REQUIREMENTS
  • North Carolina medical license
  • DEA•Board Certification, relevant speciality•5+ years related clinical experience•previous leadership experience strongly preferred
