The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire is seeking a full-time faculty member to serve as Director of the Acute Pain Service. Expertise in acute pain management techniques with an emphasis on perioperative analgesia is required. The position will involve clinical and administrative duties of the Acute Pain Service caring for hospital inpatients. This includes operational oversight of inpatient activities that offer pharmacologic, interventional, and other subspecialty services in the care of hospital inpatients. Ability to work with other pain related services (e.g., chronic pain, addiction medicine) is important. The Director will also serve as a clinical lead for resource development, clinical project prioritization, and multi-disciplinary activities related to quality improvement. The position also includes responsibility for anesthesia care of surgical patient. Candidates with previous clinical research experience are desirable. Applicants must have postgraduate medical training that includes completion of an ACGME accredited anesthesia residency program and fellowship training in acute pain management or regional anesthesia. Applicants must also have an anesthesiology certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology, a valid Drug Enforcement Administration certification, and be eligible for a New Hampshire medical license.
