Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Medical Director to lead our clinical operations and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in healthcare management, clinical research, and medical oversight, with a strong foundation in medical terminology, hospital protocols, and regulatory standards. The Medical Director is responsible for providing direct and indirect basic medical care to meet the physiological and emotional needs of the patients and ensuring quality care is provided to protect the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Responsibilities may include and not be limited to: Conducting rounds in the medical and infirmary units Performing sick call visits, and managing chronic care Responding to and initiating care for medical emergencies Leading efforts to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of healthcare services Coordinating, leading and participating in educational and training activities May supervise Staff Physicians and other medical staff Ensuring compliance with State and Federal mandates and regulations, including court mandates and standards Collaborating on with other medical professionals to ensure staff are responsive to patients' needs Skills Medical degree (MD or DO) Valid license as a physician in the state where the facility is located Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required) Possess a current DEA registration Currently certified in a Board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Experience in general medicine, a strong knowledge of current medical principles and practices, and the ability to manage and direct medical team Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
Pay:
$135.00 - $145.00 per hour
