The preferred physician will combine sound medical judgment with a collaborative, responsive approach to hospice care. The Medical Director should be comfortable advising clinicians, educating community physicians, supporting eligibility decisions, participating in interdisciplinary care, and representing hospice professionally within the medical community. Board certification or significant experience in hospice and palliative medicine, geriatrics, internal medicine, family medicine, oncology, or another closely related specialty would be valuable. Requirements . Active, unrestricted Ohio physician license. Current state and federal controlled-substance registrations. Hospice or palliative-care experience, or substantive training in end-of-life care. Knowledge of Medicare hospice eligibility, certification, recertification, and Conditions of Participation. Ability to collaborate effectively with attending physicians and interdisciplinary hospice teams. Commitment to continued medical education related to hospice and palliative medicine.
