Job Description

Chief Medical Officer (MHMR) Denton, TX Marathon Staffing is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to provide senior medical leadership, clinical oversight, and quality governance for a trauma-informed, person-centered behavioral health organization. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals, including those from diverse backgrounds and communities. What you'll do Serve as the Center's senior physician executive and chief medical authority, establishing and maintaining standards of psychiatric and medical practice. Provide executive leadership and strategic guidance to improve health outcomes, expand clinical services, and strengthen community partnerships. Oversee medical quality assurance, performance improvement, and clinical risk management activities (including reviews of critical incidents and sentinel events). Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state requirements, including HHSC, TAC, CMS, and Medicaid/Medicare expectations. Lead and develop medical staff and nursing leadership, including credentialing/privileging oversight and workforce development. Support utilization management and clinical resource stewardship to balance quality care with fiscal responsibility. Collaborate with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and key performance indicators related to access, productivity, quality, and outcomes. Provide limited direct clinical services as operationally necessary, including consultation and medication management. Participate in the organization's Zero Suicide initiative and crisis coordination efforts. What you bring M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine. Current, unrestricted Texas medical license or ability to obtain Texas licensure prior to employment. Board certification in Psychiatry by ABPN (or equivalent recognized specialty board). Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency Program.
Preferred:
fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, or another behavioral health subspecialty. Minimum 5 years of clinical experience treating individuals with serious mental illness (SMI), serious emotional disturbance (SED), substance use disorders (SUD), intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), or co-occurring conditions. Minimum 3 years of leadership/administrative/medical director/supervisory experience in a behavioral health, healthcare, hospital, community mental health, or integrated care setting. Background and criminal history free from disqualifying offenses as outlined by Texas Administrative Code (TAC) and HHSC requirements. Valid driver's license and automobile insurance (with ability to obtain a Texas driver's license within 30 days if out of state). Successful completion of required training within 30 days of employment and ongoing compliance with annual training.
