Director of Emergency Services

A 326-bed acute care hospital in El Paso is seeking an experienced nursing leader to serve as Director of Emergency Services. This facility is recognized for its regional kidney transplant program and Level III trauma designation, with a high-volume emergency department that serves a diverse population, including cross-border transfers from southern Mexico and surrounding communities. The emergency department includes 32 beds and operates in a fast-paced environment that requires strong leadership, operational discipline, and a focus on patient flow, quality outcomes, and staff engagement. Position Overview This role provides full oversight of emergency department nursing practice and daily operations. The Director leads a team of approximately 80 FTEs along with four clinical nurse coordinators, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality emergency care delivery. A key focus of this position is improving throughput and operational performance while maintaining strong clinical standards. This includes supporting evidence-based practice, managing variation in care, and strengthening collaboration across departments and physician partners.
