Work Schedule:
Part-time; Day shift | Approx. 16-18 hours weekly Pay rate: $135 - 150/hr. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Serving as the Occupational Medical Director and primary consultant to BEP management on all occupational medicine matters. Providing comprehensive clinical medicine services, including diagnostic and preventive health care, physical examinations, emergency treatment, and health counseling. Evaluating and rendering professional medical opinions regarding fitness-for-duty examinations and all aspects of workers' compensation (OWCP) cases. Monitoring local, state, and federal health concern mailboxes and responding to questionnaires across all three shifts. Reviewing audiograms, managing audiometric databases, and interpreting clinical tests such as EKGs and spirometry. Drafting occupational health articles for the EHS Newsletter and developing or reviewing agency policies and procedures. Accompany a nurse on emergency calls outside of the Health Unit when available. Provide medical and administrative support to EAP staff regarding issues like alcohol/drug abuse and emotional stress. Conduct peer-to-peer phone calls for work and non-work-related illnesses/injuries to advise on the agency's light and limited duty programs. Serve as a member of BEP committees formed to determine agency policies that require medical input. Regularly evaluate the health services provided by the BEP Health Unit (BEPHU) and provide recommendations to the COR for service improvements. In addition to monitoring mailboxes for all three shifts, the Medical Director may be requested by the COR or Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) manager to see employees during the evening or midnight shifts (scheduled in advance). Education:
A Doctorate degree in medicine (MD) from an accredited institution.
Licensure:
A current, valid license to practice medicine in the Fort Worth Metropolitan Area.
Experience:
Certification in occupational health or 3-5 years of documented experience in the field; preferred training in Occupational Medicine.
Mandatory Certifications:
Current Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) training and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Spirometry training (16 hours).
Clinical Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting clinical tests, using an EKG, and performing sutures.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Occupational Health and Safety software (Cority), web-based medical systems, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Security:
Ability to successfully complete a government-required background investigation (Tier 1 at minimum).
Occupational Disease Prevention:
Must have a documented, adequate background and knowledge in the prevention of occupational diseases.
Certification Frequency:
CAOHC Training:
Must be retaken every five (5) years.
NIOSH Spirometry:
The 16-hour training program must be retaken every five (5) years.
Board Certification:
If board-certified in Occupational Medicine, a specific number of hours must be completed every ten (10) years to maintain status.
Regional Specificity:
The license to practice must be specific to the Fort Worth Metropolitan Area. Preferably, be trained in Occupational Medicine. Tryfacta is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Pay:
$140.00 - $150.00 per hour
