Job Description

Overview UT Health Quitman is a comprehensive, community-focused hospital featuring 25 private patient rooms, a 24-hour Level IV Trauma Center, and a designated Stroke-Ready Center. The facility includes modern surgical suites, advanced diagnostic services, swing bed care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, on-site physician clinics, and a dedicated sleep lab. Key service lines include Joint Replacement and Orthopedic Care. This unit is supported by a strong, multidisciplinary team of 49 staff members. In this role, you will provide oversight and leadership to ensure high-quality patient care, efficient unit operations, and a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities The nurse director is a professional registered nurse with twenty-four-hour responsibility for assigned departments within established standards to achieve the mission and vision of the organization. The nursing director is responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit/departments and executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The nurse director provides leadership and mentorship in the development of leaders and staff. The nurse director is responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality, patient satisfaction, and employee satisfaction outcomes to implement strategies for improvement. The nurse director is a change agent and will establish strong collaborative relationships with physicians. Responsible for overall administrative, financial, and clinical activities of assigned departments.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
Bachelor's in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing. Requires strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration. Minimum of five (or 3-5) years' clinical nursing experience, of which 3 (or 2) years must have been in a management capacity. Master's Degree in Nursing or within 2 years. #LI-AG1
