Role:
Mi Casa Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice Medical Director to join our dedicated team in San Antonio, TX. This is a meaningful opportunity to lead clinical excellence and provide expert guidance in end-of-life care, making a profound difference in the lives of patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
Provide medical oversight and clinical leadership for the hospice program in accordance with federal and state regulations Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to develop and review individualized patient care plans Conduct and oversee patient eligibility certifications and recertifications for hospice services Serve as a clinical resource and consultant for attending physicians, nurses, and care team members Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives Ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid hospice conditions of participation Support staff education and training on palliative and end-of-life care best practices
Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution Active and unrestricted Texas medical license Board certification in hospice and palliative medicine preferred Prior experience in hospice, palliative care, or a related clinical setting Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid hospice regulations and compliance standards Excellent communication, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills Compassionate, patient-centered approach to end-of-life care
