NSH is seeking an experienced, independent-minded physician to serve as Medical Director, Clinical Governance & Education . This is a part-time contracted role for a physician who values clinical independence, conservative judgment, patient safety, and clear separation between clinical decision-making and non-clinical business operations. NSH's operating philosophy is simple: clinical judgment should remain independent, evidence claims should be disciplined, and marketing should never drive medical decisions. Role Purpose The Medical Director will help NSH establish and maintain a conservative clinical governance framework for educational content, clinical policies, safety standards, delegation boundaries where applicable, and future clinical-service readiness. This role is especially suited for a physician who is comfortable operating in areas where patients may be interested in non-surgical or biologically oriented options, while maintaining clear boundaries around evidence, standard care, informed consent, and appropriate referral to licensed clinical care. What This Role Is A part-time, contracted Medical Director engagement under a written Medical Director Services Agreement. A clinical governance and oversight role with a clearly defined scope of services. A role focused on safety, evidence discipline, appropriate clinical boundaries, and standard-care context. A collaborative relationship with a non-clinical operations team responsible for administrative, operational, marketing, and compliance-support functions. A role designed to preserve independent medical judgment and avoid compensation structures tied to patient volume, referrals, treatment selection, supplier relationships, or revenue. What This Role Is Not This is not a full-time clinical practice role. This is not a sales, endorsement, or promotional role. This is not a role where supplier, marketing, or operational priorities influence independent medical judgment. This is not a role requiring the physician to make claims, endorsements, or recommendations outside applicable law, professional standards, standard-care context, and evidence-appropriate boundaries. This is not intended to replace patient-specific care by licensed treating clinicians. Scope of Medical Direction Depending on final agreement and operational readiness, responsibilities may include: Reviewing and approving clinical policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures. Advising on patient-safety standards, clinical boundaries, and appropriate escalation pathways. Reviewing educational and public-facing health content for medical accuracy, claim discipline, and risk framing. Helping define candidacy frameworks and contraindication logic where applicable. Advising on informed-consent, disclosure, and standard-care context language. Reviewing clinical delegation policies where applicable and consistent with Utah law, professional standards, and the physician's independent judgment. Supporting training standards for clinical or operational staff where relevant. Participating in adverse-event, incident, or quality-review processes if clinical services are initiated. Providing periodic clinical consultation to the NSH team within agreed availability expectations. Participating in supplier, product, or modality evaluation from an independent clinical perspective, without financial ties to supplier selection or product utilization. Final duties, cadence, documentation expectations, and authority boundaries will be defined in the written Medical Director Services Agreement. Areas of Helpful Experience Experience in one or more of the following areas may be helpful, but is not required: Non-surgical musculoskeletal care. Physical medicine and rehabilitation. Sports medicine. Preventive medicine. Internal medicine or family medicine. Pain medicine. Wellness or longevity-adjacent care. IV therapy or nutritional support oversight. Hormone-related clinical evaluation. Diagnostic and laboratory interpretation. Biologically oriented or regenerative-medicine-adjacent education, with appropriate regulatory and evidence boundaries. NSH prioritizes conservative clinical judgment over enthusiasm for any specific modality. The ideal physician is comfortable saying when evidence is limited, when standard care should come first, and when a patient should be referred to an appropriate licensed clinician. Required Qualifications Active, unrestricted Utah medical license, MD or DO. Board certification preferred. Clean disciplinary history. Clean or explainable malpractice history. Current malpractice coverage or willingness to maintain appropriate coverage for the agreed scope. Demonstrated comfort with independent clinical judgment in a contracted Medical Director or advisory arrangement. Willingness to maintain clear conflict-of-interest disclosures. Willingness to document time, deliverables, reviews, and approvals as appropriate. Familiarity with Utah's healthcare regulatory environment preferred. NSH is currently pre-first-patient, so the initial time commitment is expected to be modest and focused on governance, review, and readiness work. Specific hours, meeting cadence, review timelines, consultation availability, and any on-call expectations will be defined by mutual agreement before engagement. Compensation Compensation is expected to be in the range of $3,500-$5,000 per month , structured as a fixed monthly retainer for a defined scope of bona fide services. The retainer will correspond to documented administrative, oversight, review, governance, and consultation services under the written agreement. Compensation will not be tied to patient volume, referrals, procedures, treatment selection, product use, supplier relationships, or company revenue.
