An Emergency Medical Director within emergency medical services is a physician who provides guidance, leadership, oversight and continuous quality improvement (CQI) for the practice of local EMTs and paramedics within a predefined area. Typically board-certified in emergency medicine or pediatric emergency medicine. Generally responsible for either the creation of protocols for treatment by prehospital providers or providing leadership to the group of physicians who assist with the provision of medical oversight depending on which model of service delivery and which model of medical control are operating.

44,000 45 bed ED EPIC documentation 12% Admission rate 32 bed psychiatry unit attached to hospital 24/7 psychiatry, anesthesiology, NICU, OB-GYN, hospitalist, intensivist, general surgery Neurologist 7 days a week, 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. with telestroke support from UVA on off-hours 40 hours physician coverage daily; 24 hours APP coverageQualifications:
