Senior Dosimetrist Cancer Specialists of North Florida - 3.5 Jacksonville, FL Job Details Full-time 16 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Qualifications Certified Medical Dosimetrist Research Full Job Description Cancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for an experienced Senior Dosimetrist for our busy Radiation Department. The Senior Dosimetrist is an experienced professional who provides advanced radiation treatment planning and serves as a mentor to junior staff. This position is ideal for individuals seeking growth and future leadership opportunities within a collaborative, patient-focused environment. The Senior Dosimetrist works closely with Radiation Oncologists, Physicists, and Radiation Therapists to ensure accurate, safe, and high-quality patient care. Cancer Specialists of North Florida provides radiation treatment to patients at multiple locations. All radiation staff may be required to provide coverage at any of our offices, and schedules are determined based on patient need by the RTT Practice Administrator or Physician(s). Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Collaborate with physicians, physicists, and therapists in planning and implementing radiation therapy. Perform radiation dose distributions, dosage calculations, and construct treatment devices. Assist in patient localization procedures using CT or conventional radiographic techniques. Obtain patient contours and outline anatomical structures and target volumes in three dimensions. Prepare treatment aids and beam-modifying devices, including molds, shields, cradles, compensators, and other necessary equipment. Verify treatment plans through simulation and assist therapists in plan implementation. Enter treatment parameters in the record/verify system and maintain accurate documentation of patient plans. Perform routine quality control, including weekly chart checks and chart rounds. Mentor and provide guidance to Junior Dosimetrists, Dosimetry Technical Assistants, and Radiation Therapists. Participate in clinical research and implementation of new treatment techniques. Promote professional growth within the dosimetry team and collaborate in departmental improvement initiatives. Observe all safety and health regulations, ensuring compliance with State and Federal standards. Perform additional duties as assigned. Full-time Position, Monday - Friday Clinic locations in Jacksonville, Fleming Island and St.
Augustine, FL Education and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Dosimetry Minimum seven (5) years of experience as a Medical Dosimetrist under the supervision of a Board-Certified Medical Physicist preferred.
