Job Description:
A care giver with responsibility/accountability for radiation therapy dosimetry, accurately interpreting Radiation Oncologist's prescription, calculating and planning radiation treatments by use of treatment planning computer or hand calculations; providing support and care for the patient by use of competent technical skills, problem solving and in cooperation with other health care team members
Education:
Required:
Graduate of a medical dosimetry education program or on-the-job training with successful completion of the
Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board Preferred:
Graduate of an ARRT approved School of Radiation Therapy.
Experience:
Preferred:
2 years dosimetry experience
Skills:
Competent in radiation therapy dosimetry and all associated tasks necessary to accomplish the accurate set-up, planning and delivery of ionizing radiation therapy for optimum delivery of radiation therapy. Good documentation practices Strong initiative with work assignments Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills. Exhibits valuable time management skills
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Required:
Certified by Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board, C.M.D. within 12 months of hire.
Preferred:
A.R.R.T.- R.T.
