Job Description

TruVet Wellness & Urgent Care is an exciting new addition to the TruVet family, expanding our ability to serve the needs of our community with accessible, high-quality veterinary care. We are currently seeking an experienced Practice Manager to oversee our new General Practice and Urgent Care department, scheduled to open in June 2026. This role will partner closely with the Hospital Administrator to support the department's successful launch and ongoing growth. This role is ideal for a motivated leader who enjoys learning, building systems, and supporting clinical teams while helping prepare the hospital for future operational needs. Our Team Our leadership team is committed to providing high-quality veterinary medicine with compassion and efficiency. The Assistant Practice Manager will work directly with the Hospital Administrator, supporting daily operations and gaining exposure to strategic planning, workflow development, and leadership initiatives across the hospital. Ideal Candidate We're looking for a confident, organized, and collaborative professional with veterinary hospital experience who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment. This person is solution-oriented, adaptable, and interested in growing into a broader leadership role over time. Prior experience in veterinary practice management, supervision, or operations is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Administrative & Operational Support Work directly with the Hospital Administrator to support daily operations and hospital initiatives Assist with workflow development, scheduling coordination, and process improvements Support implementation and refinement of hospital protocols and Standard Operating Guidelines Team Leadership & Support Provide leadership support to clinical and client service teams as directed Assist with onboarding, training, and coaching of staff in collaboration with department leads and Education Manager Reinforce expectations for professionalism, teamwork, and accountability Scheduling & Coordination Assist with staff and provider scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage and efficiency Monitor staffing needs and communicate recommendations to leadership Client Experience Support high standards of client communication and service Assist with client concerns and service recovery when needed Ensure accurate estimate workflows and adherence to hospital financial policies Operational & Financial Awareness Monitor operational performance indicators such as patient flow and efficiency Support accurate charge capture and inventory coordination Assist with identifying opportunities for improved efficiency and patient access Compliance & Safety Support adherence to safety protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements Assist with implementation of hospital quality and compliance initiatives What We're Looking For Veterinary hospital experience required Leadership or supervisory experience required Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with practice management software and scheduling systems Sound judgment and ability to escalate issues appropriately Professional, collaborative, and growth-oriented mindset Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of experience in veterinary practice operations, healthcare management, or a related leadership role in a fast-paced clinical environment required. Experience in supervisory or team-lead responsibilities preferred. Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management or a related field preferred; relevant combination of education and on-the-job experience also considered. Experience with veterinary practice management software (Instinct or similar), scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace. Certified Veterinary Practice Management or related leadership/HR preferred credentials. Why TruVet?
