Individuals must enjoy teaching their fellow technician team and demonstrate exceptional leadership, clinical expertise, and operational proficiency across a wide range of responsibilities, including: Possessing a valid Veterinary Technician Certificate issued by the California State Board of Examiners. A minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on veterinary technician experience and animal restraint. Collaborating closely with MDs and DVMs to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes. Participating in disciplinary processes and conducting performance evaluations for team members. Developing, implementing, and maintaining hospital policies and procedures. Overseeing equipment maintenance, inventory management, and ordering protocols. Leading staff training initiatives and professional development programs. Creating and managing department schedules to support efficient workflow. Partnering with department leads and administration to uphold core values and organizational success. Providing constructive feedback and assisting with performance improvement planning. Accurately handling, documenting, and monitoring controlled substances. Ensuring compliance with DEA, OSHA, and AAHA standards and regulations. Addressing and resolving conflicts, concerns, or issues professionally and effectively. Fostering a positive, collaborative, and morale-boosting workplace culture. Possessing the ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted, stand/sit for extended periods of time.
