In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for insurance-related matters, ensuring smooth communication between patients, insurance providers, and our office. Your expertise will help maximize insurance benefits for our patients while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a positive patient experience through efficient insurance processing and thorough understanding of dental and medical billing procedures. Duties Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments, ensuring accurate benefit information. Submit insurance claims promptly using proper coding. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resolving discrepancies and resubmitting claims as needed to expedite reimbursement. Manage medical records and insurance documentation in compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure accurate medical coding and documentation for procedures performed. Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits, coverage limitations, and out-of-pocket costs. Maintain detailed records of all insurance transactions, updates, and correspondence for audit purposes. Requirements Proven experience in managed care environments, particularly within dental or medical offices. Strong knowledge of dental terminology and codes. Familiarity with insurance verification processes and claims submission procedures. Experience working with managed care plans and understanding of dental office workflows. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling medical records and billing documentation. Ability to navigate HIPAA regulations confidently to ensure patient privacy and data security. Office experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, along with proficiency in dental office operations.
