Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Office Manager/Dispensing Optician to join our private optical practice. In this multifaceted role, you will oversee daily office operations while providing expert optical dispensing and patient care. Your energetic approach will ensure a smooth workflow, exceptional customer service, and compliance with healthcare regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine leadership, people skills, and retail sales in a fast-paced environment dedicated to improving vision and enhancing patient experiences. Responsibilities Manage daily office operations, including scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks to ensure efficiency and high-quality service Dispense eyewear accurately by fitting spectacles and contact lenses, utilizing optical laboratory experience and eyewear fitting skills Provide exceptional customer service by assisting patients with frame selections, explaining lens options, and ensuring satisfaction with their eyewear choices Maintain comprehensive medical records in EMR/EHR systems while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations Conduct basic eye assessments such as vital signs, physiology evaluations, and anatomy knowledge to support clinical decision-making Ensure compliance with state healthcare regulations, health policy standards, and clinic procedures related to ophthalmology and pediatrics care Operate POS systems and cash registers efficiently for retail sales transactions while managing retail math accurately Perform laboratory tasks including spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear frame adjustments, and optical laboratory work to ensure precise fittings and quality control Support clinic staff by maintaining medical billing records, coding procedures correctly using medical terminology, and adhering to medical records policies Uphold aseptic techniques during clinical procedures and assist in maintaining a sterile environment for patient safety Experience Proven experience as a Dispensing Optician or in retail optometry with strong knowledge of optics, eyewear fittings, and spectacle lens dispensing Retail management experience or background in retail sales within an optical or healthcare setting is preferred Knowledge of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance and state healthcare regulations governing ophthalmology clinics Ability to operate POS systems confidently along with basic math skills necessary for retail transactions and inventory management Strong customer service skills with a focus on clinical confidentiality policies and patient-centered care Join us in delivering outstanding eye care through energetic leadership combined with expert optical services.
