We are seeking someone who works well with doctors and staff, has the ability to learn, and the desire to grow with the company. Ideal candidate is a fast learner, has excellent customer service skills, and is able to work efficiently and well with others. Optical sales experience is a must.
Duties include:
Oversee the daily operations of the optical department, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient customer service Manage and supervise optical staff, including opticians and technicians Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations Coordinate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment Provide guidance and support to staff in areas such as medical billing, insurance claims, and patient scheduling Maintain inventory of optical supplies and equipment, ordering as needed Assist in training new optical staff members on proper procedures and protocols Ensure a clean and organized work environment in accordance with aseptic technique standards Collaborate with laboratory personnel to ensure timely processing of eyewear orders Previous experience in an optical setting, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role
Qualifications:
Previous experience in an optical setting, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and ophthalmic systems Proficient in medical billing processes and insurance claims submission Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Proficient in using electronic health record systems Strong customer service experience is a big plus.
