Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Optical Manager to lead our optical department with enthusiasm and expertise. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations. Your leadership will drive sales, manage optical staff, and uphold the highest standards of clinical confidentiality and medical accuracy. Duties Supervise the optical team, providing training and mentorship to ensure excellent patient care and customer service. Manage eyewear fittings, spectacle lens dispensing, and frame adjustments with precision and professionalism. Oversee optical laboratory operations, ensuring quality control and timely production of eyewear. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, and clinical confidentiality policies across all patient records and communications. Utilize Revolution Ehr to document patient information accurately. Handle retail sales transactions using POS systems, including cash register operations and inventory management. Foster a welcoming environment by delivering outstanding patient care while promoting eyewear products and optical services. Our patients come first! Requirements Proven experience in retail optometry or optical management; vision plan billing Strong knowledge of optics and laboratory techniques related to eye care Experience with frame board management Hands-on experience with spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fittings, frame adjustments, and optical laboratory procedures. Edging experience is helpful. If you haven't edged lenses before we will train you! Retail management experience including sales strategies, retail math calculations, POS system operation, and inventory control. Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of patient safety and customer satisfaction. Excellent communication skills paired with a proactive approach to problem-solving in a clinical setting.
