Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Clinic Manager to oversee the daily operations of our veterinary clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth management of clinical services, staff supervision, financial oversight, and maintaining high standards of animal care. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong leadership skills to contribute to a well-respected veterinary practice. Responsible for managing and coordinating the clinic and staff. Train up between the desk, OR tech, prep techs, pharmacy techs, and wellness techs. Ensure appropriate packages are made for grants and new packages are created for new cases. Must ensure that adequate supplies are available and supplies needs are communicated. Monitor the daily schedule of surgeries and determine animal care. Duties Supervise and coordinate the activities of veterinary and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations Manage appointment scheduling, client relations, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction Oversee financial management, including budgeting, billing, and revenue tracking Maintain compliance with veterinary regulations and health & safety standards Assist in inventory control, procurement of supplies, and equipment maintenance Support clinical staff in implementing best practices for animal care and treatment protocols Develop and implement operational policies to optimise workflow and service quality Ensure appropriate balance of public surgeries to shelter Assist when volume is high and reduce wait time (Desk, vaccinations, exams, surgery assistance, administer medications, nebulize. Etc) Assist veterinarian in case of emergency Assist in monitoring of pets that have been induced to ensure they are breathing properly and have a normal heart rate. Troubleshoot any potential infectious patients and establish a quarantine space Become Euthanasia certified Must make sure other individual instruments and surgical supplies are properly sterilized and available for surgery Works closely with HR with staff interviewing, hiring, promotions, write-ups, firing Delegate and ensure training in proper roles Address employee problems/grievances. Responsible for appropriate coverage between surgery and wellness Open Communication and reporting to the Senior management team Demonstrate personal communication skills to include knowledge of interview techniques, public speaking, skill in writing and editing and ability to express thought orally in a clear and professional manner. Demonstrate program management knowledge to include basic statistical methods, fiscal and budget practices and procedures, knowledge of federal and state wage and hour regulations. Demonstrate supervisory knowledge to include knowledge of principles and techniques of supervision, motivation techniques and basic training methods. Knowledge of decision making techniques. Ability to train and efficiently direct activities of staff. Regularly review facility policy and procedures manuals and standard operating procedures to assure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines and the facility mission. Regularly compile and present reports to the Director of Operations and Chief Executive Officer. Assist in long-range programs and strategies, and regularly review policies and procedures. Equipment Maintenance Other duties as assigned Skills Proven supervising experience within a veterinary environment Strong management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively Sound financial management capabilities including budgeting and financial reporting Knowledge of human resources practices relevant to staff recruitment, training, and performance management Veterinary experience is highly desirable to understand clinical processes and animal welfare standards Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, staff, and external stakeholders Problem-solving aptitude with a proactive approach to operational challenges This role is ideal for a professional who is organised, compassionate about animal welfare, and possesses strong leadership qualities. The Clinic Manager will play a vital role in maintaining the clinic's reputation for excellence while fostering a positive working environment. Work is performed in a normal shelter setting. Exposure to high noise levels and cleaning agents when in kennel area. Subject to animal bites and scratches. Able to handle animals of questionable health and temperament. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodation. Standing, bending and stretching for 8-10 hours per day. Computer usage. Exposure to zoonotic disease.
