Since opening in 2015, we've earned a loyal client base and now operate out of a spacious, state-of-the-art 6,000-square-foot facility built to deliver high-quality veterinary care. Our hospital is fully equipped with advanced diagnostics and tools, including in-house labs, digital radiographs, dental radiographs, ultrasound, cold laser therapy, and surgical and dental suites. We also offer alternative therapies such as acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and see a variety of exotic pets in addition to cats and dogs. Our team environment and flexible scheduling make Healing Paws a great place to advance your surgical skills and grow your veterinary career About this role The Assistant Manager in collaboration with the Practice Manager oversees the daily function and flow of the hospital across all departments. This is a full-time position with flexibility to work in any role across the hospital. The Assistant Manager should have an infectiously productive and positive outlook on communication and team building, with a strong focus in client services, and a flexible mentality to promote our "yes" culture. Operational Leadership:
Leads morning huddles Leads daily support staff assignments and oversees room flow to drive timely and efficient check-ins and check-outs. Ensures adherence to hospital protocols and standards of care Partners with the Practice Manager to improve hospital flow by identifying and resolving workflow bottlenecks in real time. Assists the Practice Manager with applying approved discounts. Handles ordering and managing inventory levels of hospital supplies and pet food. Supports the Practice Manager with performance and KPI reporting by monitoring daily workflow efficiency and appointment utilization Assists the Practice Manager in social media engagement Ensure doctor schedules are entered and appropriate blocks are applied. Leading & Developing the Team Oversees support staff shifts and role assignments Provides ongoing, real-time coaching and performance support. Sets the tone for hospital culture, expectations, and professionalism through consistent example. Supports the Practice Manager in training new hires by following established training protocols and timelines. Escalates employee relations concerns to the Practice Manager as appropriate Guides the team to complete checklists and daily tasks Serves as a flexible, hands-on support across the hospital, stepping into roles as needed. Performs core responsibilities of each position while proactively addressing staffing gaps to ensure seamless operations and consistent client and patient experience. Team Training Assists the Practice Manager in training of new hires; follows established training protocol and training timeline to help ease new hires into their roles Assists in maintaining training checklists and protocols Provides educational and team building topics for meetings and daily flow Regularly checks-in with support staff to help guide training timelines and create new training goals Client Service Promotes a positive and professional client experience Ensures client communication standards are upheld. Responds in a timely and professional manner, promoting our "yes" culture and demonstrating to the team in real-time how to handle client related challenges Helps monitor and address call backs, communications, prescription refill requests, and client concerns efficiently All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, and unpleasant odors. Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged / challenging situations. Ability to provide high quality customer service embodying a yes culture for clients. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Ability to work effectively with computers, software, and electronics. Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift patients with or without reasonable accommodations. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and walk intermittently? Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with or without accommodation
Education and Experience:
