This role ensures high-quality education, student success, faculty development, and clinical operations in alignment with accreditation standards and industry best practices. Teaching within the dental programs may be required as determined by the Vice President of Health Sciences.
Minimum Qualifications Required :
Current and valid North Carolina Dental Hygiene License, Dental Assisting License, or Dental License (DDS or DMD) or eligible to obtain NC licensure within 6 months of hire. Minimum 5 years experience in dental education, dental practice, or clinic management. At least 3 years in a leadership or administrative role. Experience with program development and accreditation processes (preferably CODA) Knowledge of dental hygiene and assisting education trends and best practices.Preferred Qualifications Preferred :
Master's degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Education, or related field within one year of hire.Essential Duties Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
and other duties assigned as needed Program Oversight Lead Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and college goals Develop and evaluate curricula and educational practices to promote student success. Continuously improve programs using faculty, student, and industry feedback Clinic Management Oversee the Dental Clinic Manager and daily clinic operations. Ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and infection control protocols. Manage clinical rotations and maintain policies for a high-quality patient care environment. Financial & Budgetary Oversight Develop and manage program and clinic budgets. Explore revenue opportunities, grants, and other funding sources. Monitor expenditures and maintain financial sustainability. Accreditation & Compliance Maintain accreditation standards for dental programs. Prepare for site visits and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Student Success & Engagement Support student academic advising, mentorship, and career development. Implement strategies to recruit and retain diverse students. Community & Industry Engagement Build partnerships with local dental practices, associations, and employers. Organize community outreach programs to promote dental health. Reporting & Data Management Track and report metrics such as enrollment, graduation, licensure exam results, and clinic performance. Prepare reports for the Associate Dean and other stakeholders.
