In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations of the optical department, ensuring exceptional customer service, accurate eyewear fittings, and adherence to all health regulation policies. Your leadership will drive sales growth, maintain clinical confidentiality, and uphold the highest standards of optics and laboratory procedures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine your passion for eye care with strong management skills in a vibrant retail environment dedicated to improving vision and enhancing lives. Duties Lead and supervise the optical deparment to deliver outstanding customer service and ensure smooth daily operations Dispense spectacle lenses and contacts and perform precise eyewear fittings, adjustments, and repairs in accordance with best practices Manage inventory levels of frames, lenses, and optical supplies while maintaining accurate records using EMR/EHR systems Ensure compliance with HIPAA, health regulation policies, and clinic-specific confidentiality protocols during all patient interactions and record management Oversee optical laboratory processes including lens edging, mounting, and quality control to guarantee optimal product delivery Operate POS systems and cash registers efficiently while managing retail sales transactions and customer inquiries Monitor vital signs when necessary for senior or pediatric patients during eye examinations or consultations Collaborate with healthcare providers on ophthalmology referrals and ensure proper documentation of clinical records Requirements Valid NY state licensure as a Licensed Optician/ Contact Lens Licience with managerial experience in an optical or retail setting Extensive knowledge of optics, spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fittings, and frame adjustments Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, POS systems, and cash register operations in a retail environment Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and aseptic techniques necessary for patient safety Ability to interpret medical records, perform basic math calculations for prescriptions or billing purposes, and manage retail math efficiently Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to sales and client engagement Experience working with pediatric or senior populations is a plus; familiarity with vital signs measurement is advantageous Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining compliance with all healthcare standards Join us as a Licensed Optician Manager where your expertise will directly impact our patients' vision health while fostering a positive shopping experience.
