Note:
This is a 40-hour position and may include off shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by the service. This position will provide leadership to all APPs within designated areas and potential for expansion of role to include other APP teams as determined by needs of the APP structure and determined by APP Directors. Responsibilities- Manage, direct, and coordinate clinical advanced practice provider (APP) to include Physician Assistants (PA) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) across all designated areas teams; additional teams if assigned in the future.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
The APP Manager will have dual reporting to the relevant clinical grouping APP Director for administrative purposes. When on clinical duty, the APP Manager will collaborate with the assigned physician.SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Administrative supervision is exercised over APPs within the assigned areas. For concerns related to nursing practice, the APP Manager will also consult with the appropriate NP leadership. For concerns related to PA practice, the APP Manager will also consult with the appropriate PA leadership.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires moderate standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients. Required QualificationsPhysician Assistant Candidate:
Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan. Satisfactory completion of a physician assistant program accredited by ARC-PA or one of its predecessor agencies. Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA). State of Michigan Controlled Substance License Required Current DEA registration required BLS required (ACLS may be required dependent on delineation of additional privileges not included in core privileges) Five years APP clinical experience in specialty relevant to practice area. 1 year formal leadership experience or 2 years progressive leadership experience in leading teams, work units, departmentsNurse Practitioner Candidate:
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan. Current specialty certification to practice as Nurse Practitioner. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current DEA registration required. BLS required (ACLS may be required dependent on delineation of additional privileges not included in core privileges) Five years APP clinical experience in specialty relevant to practice area. 1 year formal leadership experience or 2 years progressive leadership experience in leading teams, work units, departments.NOTE:
