Job Description An employer is seeking experienced Dental Authorization Specialists to support increased authorization volume resulting from expanded Medicaid dental benefits. This role is responsible for reviewing and processing dental pre-estimates, prior authorizations, referrals, and related benefit requests while maintaining quality, accuracy, and productivity standards in a fast-paced environment. Candidates may come from dental insurance, managed care, health plan, or dental practice settings. Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process dental pre-estimates, prior authorizations, referrals, and related requests in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Verify member eligibility, benefits, and supporting documentation.
  • Research discrepancies and resolve issues to ensure timely processing.
  • Maintain established production and quality metrics.
  • Accurately document and update information within internal systems.
  • Collaborate with providers, dental offices, and internal teams to obtain necessary information.
  • Ensure compliance with plan requirements and turnaround time standards.
  • Work independently in a remote environment while managing a high-volume workload.

  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience in one or more of the following: Utilization management, Dental prior authorizations, Pre-estimates, Referrals, Dental claims processing, Treatment authorizations
  • Dental industry experience required.
  • Ability to work independently and meet performance expectations in a production-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Typing speed of at least 40 WPM preferred.
  • Experience working for a dental insurance carrier, health plan, managed care organization, TPA, or dental practice.
  • Commercial or Medicaid dental authorization experience.
  • Front-office or back-office dental office experience.
  • Experience with HSP and/or Meditrac.
  • Experience supporting high-volume processing environments.
