Front Office / Optical Sales

About Us We are a small, family-oriented optometry practice in Lewisville seeking an experienced Front Office / Optical Sales Lead to join our team. We are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and a personalized eyewear experience in a warm, welcoming environment. Position Overview We are looking for a motivated professional with at least 2 years of experience in an optical office who is confident managing front desk operations and overseeing the optical sales department. This role includes leading frame and lens sales, guiding patients in eyewear selection, and clearly explaining both vision plan benefits and medical eye health insurance coverage. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, personable, sales-driven, and comfortable taking ownership of the optical showroom's success. Key Responsibilities Manage patient check-in/check-out and front desk operations Verify and explain vision insurance benefits (materials, copays, allowances) Verify and explain medical eye health insurance benefits (deductibles, copays, medical vs. routine exams) Answer phones and schedule appointments Oversee daily optical sales performance and revenue goals Present and sell frames, lenses, and premium lens enhancements Provide expert frame styling and lens recommendations Train and support team members in sales techniques Track sales metrics and help implement strategies to increase revenue Maintain an organized, attractive optical display Process payments and manage daily reports Coordinate with doctors and clinical staff for smooth workflow Qualifications Minimum 2 years of optical office experience (required) Proven optical sales experience Leadership ability and accountability mindset Knowledge of lens products, coatings, and upgrades Experience with EHR/EMR systems Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus Compensation & Benefits $15-$20 per hour (based on experience) Performance-based bonus opportunities Paid time off Employee eyewear benefits Supportive, growth-focused work environment
